Movistar, Claro and Entel in podium of mobile lines

The third month of the year closed with 1.58 million more mobile lines compared to March 2021, with a year-on-year growth of 3.9%. Mobile service penetration reached 124.42 lines per 100 inhabitants.

The increase in contract modality lines stands out, which groups control and postpaid modalities, which increased by 1.3 million in the year, reaching 16,546,638 mobile lines. While the prepaid modality lines totaled 25,209,200, a total of 300,873 more than those registered in March 2021. The contract modality reached 39.6% of the lines as of March 2022, while last year it was 38%.

Claro and Entel registered an annual increase of 796,554 and 433,484 lines, respectively. Mobile lines registered by Movistar grew by 359,121. Meanwhile, Bitel fell by 19,074 mobile lines.

Movistar and Bitel totaled 12,967,192 and 7,290,259, thereby reducing their market share, reaching 31.1% and 17.5%, respectively, compared to their share of 31.4% and 18.2%. registered in March 2021. For their part, Claro and Entel, which totaled 12,146,998 and 9,175,167 mobile lines, increased their share to 29.1% and 22%, respectively.

The virtual mobile operators Flash and Guinea Mobile registered growth in their mobile lines reaching 150,417 and 25,805, with which they obtained a share of 0.36% and 0.06%, respectively.
