This was announced by Roberto Nobile, CEO of the operator, yesterday at the opening of the TelecomSummIT event. In addition to deployments in Buenos Aires, Rosario and the Atlantic Coast, there are already active sites in Cordoba, Corrientes and Santa Fe.
"Deploying 5G means starting to learn, to understand how the fifth generation will generate this empowerment of the country's activity," Nobile commented. For this, Telecom is redesigning the network topology, with processing taken to the edge. In this work, the company is advised by Bell Labs.
Nobile described Telecom's current transition from an ICT company to a "TechCo". The goal is to create an ecosystem of platforms relevant to customers: in the case of the corporate market, the focus is on the Cloud, cybersecurity, IoT and data center verticals.
