Nokia: There will be a bottleneck in optical network expansion by 2025

The president of Nokia for Latin America, Wilson Cardoso, pointed out that the expansion of fiber optic networks is far from over, but market specialists are already thinking about their limitations and how they will have to adapt in the coming years, especially in view of the bottleneck that will occur in 2025, when Moore's Law reaches its peak.

Cardoso explained that the limit of miniaturization has been reached, with the production of 1 nanometer transistors, which should go into production in 2025. The more we need to increase revenue by selling more power and processing speed, the more we will have to adapt to the new situation. This will have an impact on fiber networks, as they will also reach the limit of traffic data capacity that can be processed.
