The Board of Directors of the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) approved sanctioning Neko for giving up the spectrum that it obtained in the 5G tender held in November 2021 and demanding full payment of all obligations derived from that contest.
In the contest, the company obtained spectrum for an amount of US$1.62 million. Now, with what has been resolved by the regulator, it must contribute US$10.90 million to meet the commitments derived from that contest, such as contributions to the Entidad Administradora de Conectividad de las Escuelas (EACE) (School Connectivity Administrative Entity), whose first installment has already been paid.
Neko, for its part, reported that it will take the case to court, since it understands that the obligations were linked to the spectrum obtained, which has already been returned to Anatel.
