Marcelo Rute Hernandez, Head of the Management Division of the Telecommunications Development Fund of the regulatory body in Chile, highlighted that low orbit satellites present an opportunity to democratize services in remote areas that rely on these technologies.
The regulator faces the main challenge in 2023 of providing connectivity to Easter Island through satellite links, although there are still issues to improve in order to meet the demand and make more efficient use of the spectrum.
