For the past 60 days, Telecom has implemented Band Steering technology, which allows for automatic switching between the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands based on which one offers better performance to improve home Wi-Fi coverage. Gonzalo Hita, COO of Telecom, stated to Convergencia that this technology is available for new subscribers, and for existing customers, it can be activated remotely.

Band Steering is one of the benefits that the operator decided to implement to cater to an increasingly segmented and demanding consumer, as described by Hita. So far, it has contributed to a 30% increase in the Net Promoter Score (NPS).

Other examples of benefits include Wi-Fi Pass for Tethering and the provision of 50 GB of backup when a failure is detected in the fixed network.
