The Ministry of Information and Communications Technologies, MinTIC and the Territory Renewal Agency (ART), signed an alliance to connect 1,180 Wifi zones in official rural educational centers that do not have connectivity service, benefiting 162 PDET municipalities of 19 departments.

The PDET are the Development Programs with a Territorial Approach, and the macro program is called Community Zones for Peace. Each Zone will have two Internet access points, one inside the public institution that will benefit students and teachers in their academic day, and the other outside, for the benefit of the inhabitants, who will be able to access the Internet service. for free from your own devices.

The total investment in the project amounts to US$48.76 million distributed among the contributing entities, the ICT Ministry US$39.2 million and the ART US$9.4 million.
