Lizcano: "We want Cali to become an AI hub"

During his visit to the capital of Valle del Cauca, the Minister of ICT, Mauricio Lizcano, announced four major initiatives for the connectivity and digital transformation of Cali and Valle del Cauca: the construction of an Artificial Intelligence Center; the Communities of Connectivity initiative, which aims to empower Community Action Boards and social organizations in the region to bring internet access to their communities; an intensive digital skills training program for young people, and broadband internet connectivity for 45,148 households.

"We want Cali to become a hub for Artificial Intelligence. We know that there is currently a project in this direction, the San Fernando technological center, which we will support in coordination with the Valle del Cauca government and the city hall. Additionally, we will invest US$1.264,928 to build another AI microcenter, located in a popular neighborhood of the city, to create opportunities for the poorest young people," announced the Minister of ICT.
