Spectrum auctions generated US$ 28.241,7 billion in revenues

Since the opening of the telecommunications sector to private companies in the 1990s, spectrum auctions in Brazil have generated a total of US$ 28.241,7 billion that went to the national treasury, in addition to investment commitments, according to a study conducted by the consultancy Alvarez & Marsal, commissioned by Telefónica Brazil.

The study indicates that the majority of these auctions were related to national spectrum blocks and includes the 13 auctions held between 1997 and 2021.
