At Satellite Map Day 2024, María Gabriela Serrano, Sales Manager for Connectivity in South America at Eutelsat OneWeb, provided details about the company's multiorbit operation, based on 40 GEO satellites and 634 LEO satellites. She assessed the current state of the industry, stating: "There's a market for everyone. Unity is strength, and the only constant will be change, so we must be prepared".

Eutelsat OneWeb's current solution portfolio integrates geostationary systems with low-earth orbit solutions. The latter operates between 1,000 and 1,200 kilometers away and uses Ku band from the terminal to the satellite and Ka band from the satellite to the terminal "to ensure better user availability," clarified Serrano. Out of the total 634 satellites, 576 are active.

Teleports in Latin America are located in Chile (2), Brazil (2), Colombia, Costa Rica, Martinique and Mexico.

Serrano clarified that Eutelsat OneWeb does not directly deliver services but through partners. The company remains terminal agnostic, collaborating with various verticals for this aspect.
