Starlink outpaced Claro and Altice in relative customer growth

A new player is gaining ground nationally, showing a 194.37% growth in one year. This is Starlink, the satellite Internet service developed by Elon Musk's SpaceX. Despite being a premium service in both price and quality, numerous Dominicans have subscribed, demonstrating a growing demand for advanced connectivity solutions.

Twelve months later, the figure had tripled to 16,079 users in the Dominican Republic, according to data provided by the Dominican Institute of Telecommunications (Indotel) to elDinero.

Specifically, Claro registered a growth of 2.02%, increasing from 6,108,561 to 6,232,153 between January and December 2023.
