Sparkle's data center in Panama reaches 25% occupancy of first module in 8 months

Panama Digital Gateway has been operational since the beginning of the year and has five modules in total. Rodolfo López Stanic, director for OTT and North America at the firm, highlighted the acceptance it had, to the point that it managed to exceed Sparkle's own expectations. He even pointed out that it is on its way to becoming a nerve center for Central America and the Caribbean.

"Those who are occupying the site have brought us a new traffic quality level", he added.

Regarding the location in Panama, Roberto Migliozzi, director of Latin American Sales at Sparkle, described it as a natural crossroads between the Atlantic and the Pacific, North and South America: "strategically, 80% of the submarine cables that connect the USA with LATAM converge there."

Among the characteristics mentioned by Migliozzi, are the 5,500 m2 of space, under a modular design capable of housing up to 650 racks in five modules; the 2.0 MW of electrical power, expandable to 5 MW; and the design and certification of Uptime Institute as Tier III.
