Convergencialatina will hold Satellite Map Day 2025 on June 10 and 11

This online event will unveil the 23rd edition of the Latin American Satellite Map day, featuring the fleets operating in the region and details on low Earth orbit projects. Through four discussion panels, a workshop, and special presentations, key industry players will share their insights on LEO business models, the potential of Direct-to-Device, regulatory efforts in Latin America, and other topics.

Companies already supporting the Satellite Map of Latin America and participating in the event include Hughes, Telesat, SES, Eutelsat OneWeb, Orbith, Invap, Arsat, Servicio Satelital, Telefónica Global Solutions, and Claro Empresas. The event is institutionally supported by AADT, WTA, GSOA, MSSA, and Aprent, with Latam.Space as Content Partner.

5G contracts progress as ICE raises additional concerns

The Comptroller’s Office has given the green light to the contracts signed by the six operators (two national and four regional) to begin the deployment of 5G. The state-owned ICE plans to take legal action if Sutel does not approve its agreement with Racsa to provide fifth-generation mobile phone service.
