Satellite Map Day 2025

Eutelsat OneWeb: latency in LEO around 70 to 80 milliseconds

Gabriela Serrano, Regional Sales Manager of the company, shared details about the EutelsatOneWeb service during her presentation at Satellite Map Day 2025. The operator provides GEO solutions with 40 satellites across different bands and has a fleet of 634 LEO satellites that orbit from north to south. This latter constellation is divided into 12 planes, while the ground stations are fully interconnected.

The executive envisioned “the unification of different orbits” and increased specialization in vertical markets. According to Serrano, each vertical has different requirements, and “each client has specific needs.” That is why she emphasized the importance of thoroughly understanding what the client requires in order to build tailored solutions and get the most out of each one.
