It is worth noting that the users of the Mexican Satellite System (Mexsat) are national security institutions. The system was specifically developed to provide these agencies with highly secure and reliable communications. The satellite fleet consists of two GEO spacecraft: Morelos 3, which provides mobile satellite services and Bicentenario, which delivers fixed services.

After the hurricane passed, communications increased sixfold due to the demand from agencies deployed to the area.
