During the first day of Convergencia Show 2025 (CSMX 2025), discussions focused on cybersecurity, AI, and mobile connectivity at a time when the Latin American region is in the midst of rolling out 5G.
In the opening ceremony, Salomón Padilla, president of Convergencia Show and VP of the Independent Telecommunications Association of Mexico (ATIM), highlighted CSMX’s role as a business hub.
The day’s conference agenda featured presentations by Manuel Tierno from Google Cloud Mexico, Public Sector and Education, who spoke about cybersecurity in the era of artificial intelligence, and Freddy Rojas, CEO & Founder of Japifon, who addressed the new era of mobile connectivity.
Rojas made headlines during the event by claiming that the state-owned wholesaler Altán Redes is hindering companies whose business model relies on sending text messages to, for example, authenticate consumer transactions and prevent fraud.
