Shares of Grupo Televisa rose to their highest level in two weeks after a report indicated that the company is interested in acquiring AT&T’s unit in Mexico.
Media reports indicate that Izzi, one of Grupo Televisa’s companies, is in the final stages of acquiring the mobile operator. Those reports note that Izzi is competing with the investment fund Cerberus Capital Management.
Shares of Grupo Televisa on the Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV) climbed as much as 2.2%, reaching 10.19 pesos per share (US$ 0.5).
