Telcos keep losing staff, now due to AI impact
A report by consultancy MTN covering 72 major operators recorded a total of 4.344 million employees in the third quarter of 2025, 2% fewer than a year earlier. Telefónica led the layoffs, reducing its workforce by 10,100 people.
