President Boric backs Minister Muñoz

President of the Republic Gabriel Boric expressed support for Minister of Transport and Telecommunications Juan Carlos Muñoz following the controversy over the submarine fiber-optic cable project being evaluated between Chile and China, which led to the U.S. revoking the minister’s visa.

During the launch of new rail switches for the Talca-Constitución Branch Line, the president highlighted “the leadership of our Minister of Transport and Telecommunications, Juan Carlos Muñoz.” Boric said the minister has done outstanding work in all tasks assigned to him throughout Chile.

He added: “Minister Muñoz is by no means alone. He is with us, we are with him, and we will continue working for the good of Chile, from whatever space we occupy going forward, without fear, with our heads held high, and with the certainty that we have worked to improve the quality of life for the people of Chile.”
