During his presentation at the Tecnored Workshop, Raúl Andrés Fleman, CTO of Artic Fiber Optic, stated that the company provides an architecture that combines the physical layer, the fiber optics, with the air, Wi-Fi transmissions, and the management of that information in the cloud.
He explained that in a smart city, sensors, antennas, monitoring cameras, and terminals are necessary, but devices alone are not enough. “We need to ensure connectivity that is efficient, secure, stable, uninterrupted, congestion-free, and with zero latency,” he added. He also highlighted the importance of achieving system-level integration to ensure it benefits each citizen as well as the management and administration of information.
In this context, Fleman detailed the features and benefits offered by the devices Artic provides. He focused on Open Wi-Fi solutions, a technology that allows multiple devices to connect using open management systems. Bridge Wireless devices are divided into industrial types, suitable for harsh environments; commercial types, for spaces with a large number of simultaneous connections; and those designed for elevators. They also offer WiFi 7 Access Points. These tri-band devices allow better management of information traffic, preventing spectrum congestion and improving the user experience.
Additionally, through its Artic Tech Cloud platform, clients can remotely manage and oversee the entire network infrastructure. “It allows working with a multi-operator scheme on a single network, creating portals and assigning virtual portals for each sector or group of users, reducing maintenance costs through preventive management,” he explained.
