Gilat Satellite Networks was awarded the “National Tsunami Early Warning System” project in Chile. The initiative, which involves an investment of approximately US$113 million, will deploy a network of 1.029 audible and visual sirens, redundant communications, and management by the National Disaster Prevention and Response Service, to be located along the country’s coastline to alert the population.
The project includes 15 regional control centers, one national center, a data center, and satellite and fiber connectivity. The concession period is 20 years.
