The Ministry of Transport and Communications (Ministerio de Transportes y Comunicaciones, MTC) published the Ministerial Resolution that will enable internet access to 770 population centers in Loreto and Madre de Dios under the so-called “Selva Projects,” based on three Pronatel initiatives.
These projects involve an investment exceeding US$370 million, financed through the FITEL fund, managed by Pronatel, and will benefit 1,094 public institutions (862 schools, 220 healthcare facilities, and 11 police stations), strengthening access to essential services. The rollout includes the deployment of 403 Digital Access Centers and the provision of free internet in 504 public squares.
Pronatel highlighted that the projects will be carried out under the Assets Projects model, a mechanism that promotes private investment participation without committing public resources or transferring risks to the State.
