Agreement with European Union to boost infrastructure investment

The Private Investment Promotion Agency signed a cooperation agreement with the European Union to strengthen technical, financial and knowledge cooperation aimed at developing priority infrastructure and public services projects in Peru.

The agreement is part of the European Union–Latin America and Caribbean Global Gateway Investment Agenda, a strategy through which the European Union mobilizes resources to promote sustainable, resilient and inclusive investment in the region.

One of the agreement’s main objectives is to prioritize Public-Private Partnership projects, promoting sound structuring and financing of pre-investment studies to ensure their viability. It also contemplates access to European financing through development banks and innovative financial instruments.

Among other projects, it will promote connectivity and territorial integration initiatives to help close digital gaps. The cooperation will also cover Proinversión’s digital transformation through the use of artificial intelligence, data analytics and technologies applied to investment promotion.
