Internet Day 2026

Cabase adds new IXP in Esquel

The Argentine Internet Chamber (Cámara Argentina de Internet, Cabase) announced at the opening of the second day of Internet Day 2026 the launch of a new Internet exchange point (IXP) in Esquel, located at the University of Chubut.

There are now 28 interconnection points in the country. The new IXP, as highlighted by Luis Constanzo, Vice President of IXP at Cabase, will have an impact on Trevelin, the Comarca Andina, including Fofoy and Corcovado, and Los Alerces National Park.

It will also function as an interconnection node to Neuquén, covering San Martín de los Andes, Villa La Angostura, Bariloche, and El Bolsón.

Tamara Sanders, Chubut’s Undersecretary of Innovation, said the project was made possible through joint efforts among the provincial government, Cabase, carriers, ISPs, and the University of Chubut.
