EllaLink launches Caribbean Gateway initiative

EllaLink launched the EllaLink Caribbean Gateway (ECG) initiative, a new submarine cable system that will extend from Cayenne, French Guiana, to Martinique and Guadeloupe, with a western segment serving Aruba, Curaçao and Bonaire.

EllaLink Caribbean Gateway is scheduled to enter service in 2029. The project is an open and neutral corridor designed to provide a tailored connectivity solution for each of the territories it will serve.

The start of the development phase marks the project’s transition from the design stage to committed investment. In the coming months, EllaLink will convert letters of intent into firm commitments with the parties responsible for landing points along the route, complete the financial package and finalize the financing structure needed to begin construction.
