The National Telecommunications Agency (Agencia Nacional de Telecomunicaciones, Anatel) is calling for a role in discussions on regulating the digital ecosystem built around telecommunications networks, data centers, cloud computing and platforms.

Anatel board member Edson Holanda presented this position during the opening of Futurecom 2026 in São Paulo. Holanda said transformations in the sector have broadened the regulatory debate beyond traditional telecommunications networks and that Anatel’s accumulated experience should be taken into account when developing rules for new services.
