El holding Telemar Participaciones (TMAR) is to announce two new contracts in China with China Telecom and China Mobile. The first is to allow the Brazilian operator to complete international calls to and from China without using the international reach of Embratel. Besides, Oi, mobile unit of Telemar, would be able to offer international GSM roaming partnered up with China Mobile. In turn, Brasil Telecom is to close a similar deal with China Telecom.
