TV Azteca could be sanctioned by the Unefon/Codisco case.

The Security and Exchange Commission of the United States (SEC) as well as the Commission of Mexico (CNBV) could impose fines or economic sanctions to TV Azteca due to the irregularities performed during the renegotiations of the debts of the Mobile Telephony Operator Unefon. Last December, it was known that Ricardo Salinas and his partner in Unefon, Moisés Saba, participated in the financial restructuring process of the company through Codisco, what resulted in profits amounting to US$ 218 million. TV Azteca shareholders were not informed of said operation.
