Intel could increase its local investments by 40%

The U.S. firm is evaluating an increase of 40% in its Ecuadorian investments with the purpose of accompanying the growth reported in the PC market.  According to Ricardo Olarte, Intel manager for the Andina Region, Central America and the Caribbean, the segment reported an increase of 35% in its sales during the two years.  It highlighted that the Ecuadorian market has a strong potential due to the low infiltration of PCs, estimated at 6%.  However, Olarte held that broadband in the country is scarce in hot spots.
