Venezuela reserves an orbital position of the CAN with Anik E2 of Telesat

According to Conatel, the temporary satellite Anik-E2 (Gap Filler) reached orbit 67° east, from the position 118.7º west longitude.  The satellite arrival was set for June 11th as date limit for its relocation, according to what was established by the International Telecommunications Union (UIT in Spanish). The satellite transfer, impelled and financed by the Venezuelan administration, is framed in the decision of all the members of the Comunidad Andina (CAN) to preserve the Orbit Spectrum Resource (ROE in Spanish) position 67º East on behalf of the CAN. The satellite Anik E2 that belongs to Telesat was sent to geostationary orbit in 1991.
