CANTV to negotiate new interconnection agreements with cable operators

The Telecommunication Company informed that, according to the current Telecommunications Law (Lotel), it established contracts and agreements with 9 cable operators for the use of general telecommunications platforms (called VGT). Likewise, the Company would be negotiating new agreements with another 11 operators, among which Latin Cable, Cosmovisión and Cable Hogar of the countries central region, appear. CANTV explained that VGT are “elements that allow locating the necessary physical means to lend telecommunications services, complying with what is foreseen within the respective regulation”. At the moment, CANTV has contracts with Intercable, NetUno and TV Zamora for the use of underground ducts and with Vega-Visión, Cable Centro, Cable Par, Cable Hogar, Panamerican Cable Coro and Magnavisión, for the use of cable posts.
