Telecom launches its first integrated SMS service from fixed telephones

It deals with a fixed telephone text message service that up to now was reserved for mobile phones, which will also allow to receive SMS messages from other fixed telephones as well as from cellular phones, which has begun to crystallize the first results of NGNs mega investment plan for its networks.

Simone Batiferri and Daniel Bravo, director and manager of residential fixed telephone and Pymes of Telecom, respectively, explained the characteristics of the new service, underlining that the only company authorized to offer the service is Personal, but in short it will advance toward agreements with the rest of the operators.

One of the key requirements of the service is that users have to have a fixed telephone that accepts those services and also Caller ID. That is why executives of Telecom presented the offer of the wireless-fixed telephone Aladino 500 at US$ 76.34 with a 90-day service discount.

For now and until Telefónica launches a similar service, the application functions in the area of Telecom, although SMS messages could be sent and will be received as a voice message.
