The Managing Board of the Comisión Nacional de Televisión, CNTV (Television regulator) decided to carry out a special audit on Supercable, Cable Unión and Ingelcom since, as of January 2009, companies added debts for US$ 6.98 million. In turn, the body kept Supercable assets (infrastructure and equipment) since the operator had a debt for US$ 3.1 million. The financial situation of Supercable was damaged by the appearance of Telmex; now both companies compete in Bogotá.
Other delinquency debtors are Cable Unión and Ingelcom. In 2007, Cable Unión requested payment of US$ 1.5 million, in 36 installments, which were paid promptly until December, and there is only a balance of US$ 375,075 plus interests left. In turn, Ingelcom, a small cable operator from Cúcuta with 8,129 customers, owes US$ 438,487, although the company does not acknowledge that debt.
