The debates that are taking place around the sustainable management and treatment of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) started from a weak base: there is no internationally accepted definition of WEEE, a common reference, and this impacts both on various research organizations, and regulatory frameworks starting to emerge from the states and hampers efforts to prevent illegal traffic.
