In early April, the Supreme Court of Justice (SCJ) of Uruguay ruled on the claims filed by DirecTV on 27 articles of the Ley de Servicios de Comunicación Audiovisual (LSCA) (Law on Audiovisual Communication Services) that was passed in December 2014 but is not in force due to these and other filings by companies and opposition parties. The SCJ declared unconstitutional four articles and gave way to their prompt implementation, although President Tabare Vazquez has already anticipated that he will await for the SCJ final decision on all claims filed.
