The Uruguayan broadband operator will launch in 2017 its "4Motion" service using WiMax and LTE TDD in the 3.5 GHz band. According to a report by GSA, the company plans to invest US$5 million although Dedicado did not confirm the amount. GSA indicates that the technology allows maximum download speeds of up to 770 Mbps, with an average speed of 500 Mbps. On the other hand, the Wimax Forum raised the way towards harmonization with LTE-TDD in 3.5Ghz to take advantage of scale associated with a much larger ecosystem of TD-LTE device with RRU Dual Mode solutions, multiple antenna technologies and chipsets that support both TDD LTE and WiMAX.
