Red Hat defines itself as a global provider of open source software solutions for businesses, with the mission of being the catalyst in the communities of customers and partners; Creating the best open source technology. "What we can do is influence the community about the needs of a particular type of user," said Alejandro Raffaele, senior director of the Latam ICT Head at Red Hat. "We are the good suppliers in the industry," he said and elaborated on the concept: "We do not force a choice, open source technology is high-grade innovation with very rapid changes, and what Red Hat does is accompany our customers in this process of change." Raffaele is in charge of the telecommunication and media business for Latin America (from Mexico to Argentina) and leads teams dedicated to marketing solutions in this vertical segment. For the region Red Hat serves Paraguay, Bolivia, Uruguay and Argentina from Argentina; Chile and Peru from Chile; Central America, the Caribbean, Venezuela, Ecuador and Colombia from Colombia; and due to its size Brazil and Mexico have dedicated offices. "We work at the regional level with all the big operators," Raffaele said. In Argentina, where we are celebrating our 10 years of presence, have as clients Telefónica, Telecom and Cablevisión.
