Bolivia could access Peru's fiber optic backbone

Roque Roy Méndez, deputy minister of Telecommunications at the Ministry of Public Works, Services and Housing of Bolivia, said that the costs and benefits of the project, agreed at a binational meeting, are being analyzed. "The Government of Peru would provide facilities for Bolivia to access the fiber optic network of the Pacific, so that the country improves its access and Internet connection and lowers the costs of the service. This agreement was the product of the second version of the binational cabinet, which brought together delegations from both countries, after negotiations between authorities of both countries and the licensee of the Peruvian network (Azteca)", he said in an interview with "El Deber".
