More than 40 projects to provide Ka band satellite connectivity

Ka-band HTS satellites will become more viable in the near term to provide connectivity in rural areas. The reduction in the cost of capacity guaranteed by an HTS satellite, together with the innovations on beams and self-installing kits, are the keys to boosting the satellite broadband business. By 2018, Orbith, which markets the capacity of the Hispasat 3 satellite, plans to implement more than 40 pilot projects in partnership with local ISPs. "What we are looking for is to give them products that allow them to extend coverage in rural or lower density areas," Pablo Mosiul, Ceo de Orbith, told Convergencialatina.
