The meeting of ITU-T Study Group 5 Working Party 2/5 consented 6 Recommendations

Working Party 2/5 on “Environment, Energy Efficiency and the Circular Economy” met in Geneva from 5-9 March 2018. The next meeting of Working Party 1/5 on “Electromagnetic Compatibility and Lightning Protection” will also be held at the ITU headquarters from 21-25 May 2018.

During the meeting of Working Party 2/5 on “Environment, Energy Efficiency and the Circular Economy”, consent was granted for 6 draft Recommendations, and 8 new work items were presented and agreed. The 6 Recommendations revolved around: Progressive migration of a telecommunication/information and communication technology site to 400VDC sources and distribution; Innovative energy storage technology for stationary use -Part 3: Supercapacitator technology; Base station site energy parameter measurement methodology; E-waste management framework for countries; Methodologies for the assessment of the environmental impact of the information and communication technology sector; and Connect 2020 greenhouse gas emissions-Guidelines.
