The Minister of Energy, Science and Technology of Jamaica, Fayval Williams, expressed concern in the House of Representatives about the investment that companies make in infrastructure. Williams believes that they do not put enough money to provide a good service while increasing customers and demand for bandwidth. He was also pessimistic about the normalization of the service because he ensures that the problem is structural. The official added: "If Jamaica wants to achieve high quality, high speed, true broadband connectivity and levels of penetration on par with developed nations, it needs intervention and the government is prepared to take an initiative and work with all stakeholders.”
