Mobile data consumption grew 25% in Argentina during 2019

The average monthly data consumption per user is around 3.5 GB, and if the postpaid customer is taken into account, it rises to 4 GB. After a year marked by the economic situation, mobile operators sought to offer alternatives to over-consumption and enable “convenience” options for users eager to save, but at the same time, higher speeds and quality of service when preeminently accessing streaming video.

Movistar faced 2019 with full awareness that there would be no concrete progress in terms of evolution towards the next technological generation, and focused on quality improvements and a strong work with over consumption. Positioned on a “convenience axis,” it offered alternatives for 25% of customers who consume the full capacity of their contracted data plan each month. Even a third of them exhausts it on a recurring basis.
