The Ministry of Telecommunications (Mintel, in Spanish), the National Telecommunications Corporation (CNT EP, in Spanish) and Nokia have launched the first 5G point in Guayaquil. There a permanent point will be fixed that will have a speed of 500 Mbps. This is one of the 3 5G zones installed in the country so far. The point will serve as a test bed for 5G in Ecuador with a view to its future mass deployment.
