The president of the Council of Ministers, Guido Bellido, has inaugurated the Internet service through fiber optics in Iquitos, which is part of the Amazon Fiber project promoted by the company Grupo Satelital and includes the installation of a digital connectivity network between the cities of Yurimaguas and Iquitos. Its implementation will allow more than one and a half million people in the Loreto region, in the Amazon, to access the Internet. The 900 km fiber optic network installed is also the first sub-river project executed in the country, as it passes through the rivers of the Amazon.
