EU determines that all cryptoasset transactions must be identified

The regulation aims to prevent money laundering through these operations, which puts an end to the anonymity that prevailed until now. It is also advancing in a crypto-assets market standard for the entire Union.

The European Parliament and the 27 governments of the European Union have agreed to start applying a new rule to crypto-asset transactions that imposes the same regulations that currently apply to conventional fund transfers . Thus, cryptoasset providers will have to identify the originator and beneficiary of the transaction, regardless of the amount involved in the transaction.
