Controversy grows around the recently released Digital Services Act

Applied since Friday the 25th, the new rule seeks to limit the proliferation of hate speech and harmful information. But there are questions from the industry about technical aspects such as the use of the database or the rating given to the 19 companies that became controlled.

Although it entered into force on August 25, the European Union (EU) still has issues pending resolution to apply the Digital Services Act (DSA). For example, the office of the European Commission that will be in charge of implementing the new standard has not yet been defined. Other signs of confusion in the way the law is carried out can be seen in the legal complaints and demands of NGOs and the criticisms of independent analysts, who point out its technical limitations.
