Panama goes to the presidential election in a framework of high uncertainty

Four days before the elections, the Supreme Court is studying the case of the candidate leading the polls, José Raúl Mulino, who could be vetoed for not complying with the electoral procedures. Panama will elect a president and vice president next Sunday, May 5th. More than 3.2 million people are eligible to vote for one of the eight candidates. Additionally, they must choose the 71 members of the National Assembly (total renewal), 81 mayors, 701 representatives of the township, and 11 councilors, all with their substitutes.
