5G deployment drives expansion of Brazilian mobile market

Both large and regional operators have managed to increase their income from the growth of 5G and the enormous variety of businesses related to that technology.

The Brazilian mobile market ended the first quarter of this year with 258.1 million total accesses, of which 214.8 million correspond to cellular telephony and the rest, 43.2 million, to M2M (IoT) and access terminals (PoS), according to data from the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel). However, this year-on-year growth of 2.79% does not reflect the expansion that is being recorded in the sector from the deployment of 5G technology and the favorable expectations of GDP growth and investments throughout Brazil, especially in the search of digital solutions.
