Hughes, Omnispace and Sateliot, those first interested in S band

The firms, dedicated to messaging and IoT services, have projects under development linked to D2D (direct-to-device). Satellite operators expect frequency allocation that protects existing networks and facilitates the introduction of new services.

On May 20, Enacom allocated the 1,980-2,025 MHz and 2,170-2,200 MHz bands to the Mobile Satellite Service with primary category (Synthesized Resolution 10/2024): the 1,980-2,025 MHz portion to the Mobile Satellite Service (Earth-space ) and 2,170-2,200 MHz to the Mobile Satellite Service (space-Earth).
