Nvidia phenomenon also stumbles on AI cost

Chipmaker Nvidia posted huge profits in its fiscal second quarter (May to July). But that's not enough because the outlook for the next quarter is for revenue to stagnate. It also highlights an Achilles heel: its profits depend on a handful of its customers continuing to spend fortunes on AI chips without taking into account the erosion of their profits.

Nvidia posted strong quarterly revenue growth and a solid financial outlook going forward, but those attributes have yet to convince global analysts and investors.
